Elders

1 Peter 5:1-4 NIV, "To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed: Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away."

Jesus gave elders to the church in order to provide oversight, leadership, safety and equipping for each believer. Answering a call from God, elders respond with sincere dedication, ensuring that each Christian under our care moves from being a "spectator" to actual maturity and service.

pastor rob and shannon

Pastor Rob and his family returned to Big Bear and to Big Bear Christian Center to be part of the Pastoral team in September 2009. Rob & Shannon were married in 1996 and immediately began their family.  Believing that the first and greatest ministry is to your own family, Rob & Shannon knew that homeschooling their children would greatly aid that process.  Matthew begins 9th grade in 2010, Zachary 5th grade, Madelyn is learning to read this year, and Samuel turned 2 in August of 2009.  Their desire, is to bring everyone they come in contact with one step closer to Jesus.
